Research Focus

I am interested in exlopring the physics at the intersection of quantum field theories and string theory. My recent work focuses on investigating various aspects of the emergent chaotic dynamics in matrix gauge theories. Through gauge/gravity duality, enhanced understanding of the classical and quantum chaos in such models may lead us to better contemplate various conjectures in regard to black holes, such as the fast scrambling conjecture, which suggests that the black holes scramble information at a rate faster than other physical systems. I also explore aspects of quantum chaos in matrix models which involve fuzzy spheres and its possible relationship with entanglement in such systems.

Another recent direction of research I pursue is to explore non-perturbative effects such as the Schwinger pair production process in curved and flat spaces in the background of abelian and non-abelian gauge fields.

Teaching

I enjoy teaching physics and mathematical methods of physics at both undergraduate and graduate level. In the past years I have taught graduate level EMT, Mathematical Methods, QM and SM courses as well as research oriented classes on QFT on Fuzzy Spaces and Group Theory. I also teach Freshmen physics as well as undergraduate level Mathematical Methods, EMT and String Theory courses. For a full list of courses I have taught in the past please visit here.

Mentoring

I am eager to collaborate with enthusiastic and motivated graduate and senior undergraduate students to work on novel research problems which involve both analytical and numerical and/or symbolical techniques. I enjoy supervising Phy400 projects too. For this I give a chance the students to express their interests and then suggest a few directions and see if we may decide to work together. Drop me an email if interested.
